The token and the artwork
Banks created the Chill Guy character before the token became widely discussed in late 2024. The token’s Solana mint identifies a fungible crypto-asset; it does not transfer copyright in the illustration or show that Banks endorses the token. In November 2024, Banks said he planned takedown requests for for-profit uses. That statement is relevant to the artwork’s use, but it is not a court ruling about every token holder or every use of the image.
How CHILLGUY works
CHILLGUY is an SPL token on Solana. Its value is traded in secondary markets and can move with liquidity, listings, attention, and speculative demand. The token paper hosted by the project says the project is not focused on utility. It mentions a possible mindfulness application as a future development, which should be treated as a proposal rather than a product already available or a benefit that token holders can claim.
Tokenomics and limits
CoinGecko lists a maximum supply of 1 billion CHILLGUY and reported 999.936 million as circulating and total supply in the snapshot below. The project’s 2025 white paper says there is no new public issuance planned in that document and does not classify the token as a utility token.
