Price, market capitalization and 24-hour change can refresh through CryptoGloss’s CoinGecko data proxy. Supply and all-time-high figures are a CoinGecko snapshot fetched 2026-10-18 at 16:34 UTC. Other networks may have bridged or lookalike PEPE tokens; verify each network and contract before sending. Not investment advice.

PEPE is a meme-themed fungible token on Ethereum, identified by the ERC-20 contract linked in the market table. It is not a separate blockchain. The ticker is also easy to confuse with unrelated frog-themed projects, including Pepecoin (PEP), which runs its own proof-of-work network. Check the network and full contract address before buying, swapping, or receiving any asset called “Pepe.”

What the Token Represents

The Ethereum contract tracks token balances and transfers. Holding PEPE does not by itself grant ownership of the original Pepe artwork, a claim on a company’s revenue, a right to redeem dollars, or a guaranteed role in a protocol. Community-made tools or third-party products may add separate features, but those are not automatically rights built into the token. There is no single official issuer document that defines a broader financial claim for holders.

Supply and Market Price

CoinGecko lists 420.69 trillion PEPE as both the circulating and maximum supply in the snapshot below. A very small unit price does not mean a token is “cheap” in the valuation sense: market capitalization is price multiplied by circulating supply. If demand falls, a large token count does not protect holders from a sharp decline. Quotes, liquidity, exchange access, and the reported supply can also differ between data services and trading venues.

CoinGecko lists bridged or network-specific PEPE representations as well as the Ethereum token. A familiar ticker is not proof that two contracts are interchangeable. Verify the address on the network you are actually using and check whether a bridge or issuer is involved.

Why People Trade It

PEPE’s appeal is mainly connected to internet culture, online attention, and expectations about future demand. Those factors can bring rapid trading activity, but they do not create predictable cash flows. A token’s market value can change quickly when attention shifts, holders sell, or liquidity thins. An exchange listing is access to a market, not an endorsement or assurance of value.

Risks and Common Confusion

Memecoins can have extreme volatility, concentrated holdings, copycat contracts, thin liquidity, and social-media promotions that omit downside. A successful trade by one holder does not establish a durable investment case. Do not rely on screenshots, token names, or unsolicited links: compare the full address with a trusted explorer and treat claims of guaranteed returns as a warning sign.

PEPE should also be distinguished from the separate PEP ticker used by Pepecoin, a proof-of-work blockchain project. Similar branding does not make their networks, supply, or contract structures the same.

Social Media Sentiment

A March 2026 r/CryptoMarkets thread about Ethereum’s PEPE included holders describing past gains and bullish expectations alongside commenters asking what utility or growth path could support the price. Some replies confused PEPE with the separate PEP chain, illustrating how ticker confusion shapes online discussion. This is one thread with a removed original post, not a representative poll or evidence of future returns. Read the Reddit thread discussed here.
