Gelato Network is a Web3 infrastructure company whose current products include rollup infrastructure and account-abstraction services. Its Rollups offering helps teams deploy and operate customizable blockchain rollups, while its Paymaster and Bundler products support parts of ERC-4337 smart-account transaction flows. Gelato is a service provider in the ecosystem; it is not itself a blockchain or a guarantee that an application is decentralized.
What Gelato Provides
Rollup-as-a-service can reduce the work involved in configuring execution, sequencing, data availability integrations, and related infrastructure for a new chain. The exact stack and responsibilities depend on the selected configuration. Gelato also offers paymaster and bundler infrastructure that can help applications sponsor or submit smart-account transactions. Its Turbo Sequencer is a separate rollup component marketed for faster transaction ordering and execution.
These products should not be confused with every historical Gelato service. Earlier material often described Gelato mainly as an automation network that called smart-contract functions when a condition was met. Some integrations are changing: for example, an Aave governance discussion describes moving Aave automation away from Gelato and deprecating that integration. That specific migration does not by itself establish that every Gelato automation product has ended.
Trade-offs
Using managed infrastructure can speed up deployment, but it adds a provider relationship. A team should check which components it controls, how data and upgrades are handled, what happens during an outage, and whether it can migrate to another operator. Claims about decentralization depend on the actual sequencer, validator, upgrade, and data-availability arrangements of the deployed rollup.
