DogeOS is an EVM-compatible application layer built for Dogecoin. It gives developers a separate environment for smart contracts and apps that use DOGE as the network fee currency. As of October 30, 2026, its public Chikyū testnet is available; testnet activity is not Dogecoin base-layer activity or evidence that DogeOS mainnet is live.

How DogeOS relates to Dogecoin
DogeOS adds an EVM execution environment alongside Dogecoin rather than changing Dogecoin’s base protocol. Its developer documentation describes DOGE as the fee currency and explains an ERC-20-style interface for native DOGE on DogeOS. This does not make every DogeOS transaction a transaction on the Dogecoin blockchain.
Current network status
DogeOS announced its public testnet on September 30, 2026. Current setup and user guides still direct builders to the Chikyū testnet, faucet, testnet bridge, and testnet explorer. Do not treat testnet tokens or dApps as live mainnet services; the reviewed sources do not give a mainnet release date.
What to check before using it
A testnet is for development and experimentation. Testnet balances generally have no market value, and smart contracts, bridges, wallets, and third-party apps can fail or contain vulnerabilities. Verify the network selected in a wallet before sending real DOGE.
