How Chiliz and Fan Tokens work
Chiliz Chain is an EVM-compatible network focused on sports and entertainment applications. Socios.com is a consumer-facing platform where participating organizations can offer branded Fan Tokens. These features are limited by each program and should not be presented as ownership, a share of club revenue, or a vote on transfers and other major decisions.

Tokenomics and the changing supply model
Older summaries often describe CHZ as capped at 8.888 billion. That is no longer an accurate description of the current model. Chiliz’s Dragon8 tokenomics introduced an inflation schedule; the 2025 Pepper8 governance change adjusted the schedule for Years 3 through 7 in connection with the Paribu Network and PRB migration, then returns to the prior schedule from Year 8. The published whitepaper projects supply of about 15.05 billion CHZ by the end of Year 14. The schedule is inflationary and does not establish a fixed maximum supply.
CHZ supports Fan Token activity and network gas. Burns, network rewards, and changes approved through governance can affect circulating supply. CoinGecko reports a circulating and total supply snapshot above; these figures can change and should not be mistaken for the eventual supply ceiling.
Fan Token precision and practical risks
Chiliz documentation describes a 2026 migration of Fan Tokens to 18-decimal precision. Token migration and supported network details are operational matters: holders should follow the official instructions for the specific asset and avoid sending tokens to an unsupported contract or chain. Fan Token markets may be thin, and their prices can move with sports attention, platform demand, and general crypto conditions.
Fan Tokens can give holders a narrow way to participate in selected fan activities, but the scope is set by the issuer. They do not guarantee rewards, club influence, resale liquidity, or financial returns.
