Botto (BOTTO)

What Is Botto?

Botto is a decentralized autonomous artist — a generative AI system governed by a DAO that continuously creates original artwork. Each week, Botto produces thousands of image fragments which the community votes on to help shape the AI’s aesthetic development. The most community-approved artwork is minted as an NFT and sold at auction on platforms like SuperRare.

How Botto Works

  1. Generation: Botto’s AI (built on latent diffusion / DALL-E-era generative models) produces hundreds of image variations per week
  2. Community curation: BOTTO stakers vote on which fragments best represent the direction the community wants the artist to develop. Votes are weighted by staked BOTTO
  3. NFT minting: The highest-voted piece each period is minted as a 1-of-1 NFT and listed at auction
  4. Revenue sharing: Auction proceeds (in ETH) are distributed: a portion to the Botto treasury (DAO-controlled), and a portion to BOTTO stakers as yield

BOTTO Token

BOTTO is the governance and staking token:

  • Staking grants voting power to curate Botto’s output and influence its creative direction
  • Revenue sharing: Stakers earn a share of NFT auction proceeds in ETH
  • Governance: Token holders vote on treasury allocation, protocol parameters, and Botto’s training direction

AI × DAO Model

Botto is notable for combining on-chain governance with AI creative output. The DAO essentially acts as the artist’s “taste” — training the AI through collective curation rather than a single human artist’s preferences. This creates a feedback loop where community values shape the AI’s evolving aesthetic.

Auction History

Botto has generated significant auction revenue on SuperRare, with some pieces selling for over 100 ETH. Revenue accumulates in the DAO treasury and is periodically distributed to stakers.
