1INCH Token

1INCH is the token associated with the 1inch Network and is used in its governance and staking systems. The network is the broader DeFi ecosystem; 1INCH is a separate crypto asset. Users do not need to own 1INCH to make an ordinary swap through the 1inch app. Staking can create voting power, but it also adds lock-up and contract risks.

How the token is used

1INCH is mainly tied to 1inch DAO participation and the network’s staking system. It is not the gas token for Ethereum, and holding it does not represent equity, a claim on the 1inch Foundation, or a guaranteed share of protocol revenue. The official 1inch overview describes the token as part of the network’s governance model; its governance guide explains the proposal and voting process.

Staking and Unicorn Power

When a user stakes 1INCH, the staking system represents the position as st1INCH and assigns Unicorn Power (UP). UP can be used in governance or delegated within the Fusion resolver system. The official staking guide says the lock can range from one month to two years; a longer lock can start with more UP, and UP declines over time. Withdrawing before the selected lock expires may incur a penalty that also declines over time; the guide says the maximum early-withdrawal loss can reach 90% under its stated formula.

Delegating UP to a resolver is a separate choice. Resolver farms are funded by independent resolvers, and their displayed rewards can change. The 1inch Help Center says those rewards are not provided or guaranteed by 1inch Network entities. Staking therefore should not be described as a fixed-yield product.

Supply and contract addresses

CoinGecko listed about 1.406 billion 1INCH in circulation against a maximum supply of 1.5 billion when checked on October 17, 2026. Circulating-supply estimates can differ by provider and change as tokens enter circulation, so the figures above are a dated reference rather than a permanent protocol constant. The Ethereum contract shown above is 0x111111111117dc0aa78b770fa6a738034120c302; CoinGecko also lists separate Base and BNB Smart Chain deployments. Always confirm the network and address with a trusted source before interacting with a token or bridge.

Risks and common misunderstandings

  • The token is not the network. 1inch Network is a collection of products and protocols; 1INCH is one asset used in parts of its governance and staking design.
  • Governance power is not ownership. Voting influence does not give a holder a legal claim on company or foundation assets, nor does a vote guarantee that a proposal will be implemented exactly as expected.
  • Staking has lock and smart-contract risk. Early withdrawal can cost tokens, and the system’s rules or resolver incentives can change.
  • Check approvals and chain selection. A token approval grants a contract permission to spend tokens. The 1inch approval guide explains why users should review the spender, amount, and network instead of treating an approval as a harmless click.

Social Media Sentiment

A small scan of public discussion does not support a reliable claim about current community-wide sentiment. A June 2025 r/1inch thread asked about upcoming updates, while an April 2023 thread asked about staking access and the token’s use. These isolated posts suggest recurring questions about roadmap visibility and token utility, but they are old, low-volume examples—not a representative survey or a current consensus.
