FTX Token (FTT)

FTX Token (FTT) is a crypto token issued for the FTX exchange ecosystem. FTX halted operations and entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2022. FTT can still have market quotes on some venues, but a token price does not show that the former exchange is operating or that token holders have a claim on FTX’s bankruptcy estate.

CoinGecko’s markets API returned this snapshot at 2026-10-25 01:18 UTC. Market prices and reported supply fields can change or differ by provider. CoinGecko’s response reports zero circulating supply and a zero market-cap field while also reporting a price, total supply, and trading volume. Read those provider fields cautiously; the zero market-cap figure is not evidence that no tokens exist or trade.

FTT’s Former Exchange Role

FTT was designed as an exchange-linked token whose advertised benefits depended on FTX services and rules. Once FTX stopped operating, those exchange uses could no longer be assumed to work. FTT is not equity in FTX, and merely holding the token is different from having an allowed customer or creditor claim in a bankruptcy case. Claims and distributions are handled through the court-supervised process and its eligibility rules.

The FTX collapse also showed the danger of relying on an issuer-linked token as if it were independent collateral. In its criminal case, the U.S. Department of Justice said Samuel Bankman-Fried misappropriated customer funds deposited with FTX and described transfers to Alameda Research. That source documents court findings about the case; it does not by itself establish the legal rights of any particular FTT holder.

Tokenomics and Current Status

CoinGecko’s API reports about 328.9 million FTT as total and maximum supply in the snapshot above, but classifies circulating supply as zero. It also reports exchange volume, which means the supply classifications and market activity should not be collapsed into a single conclusion. FTT does not provide a current FTX service simply because a market quote exists, and the quoted price does not represent a value promised by FTX or the bankruptcy estate.

FTX’s bankruptcy information and court notices describe the process for customer and creditor claims. Anyone assessing a specific claim must rely on the actual account records and court-approved rules, not infer claim status from an FTT wallet balance alone. FTT remains a speculative token with issuer, liquidity, custody, contract, and market risks.
