Save is a decentralized lending and borrowing protocol on Solana, previously branded Solend. Users supply supported crypto assets to lending pools or borrow against collateral; interest rates and liquidation conditions depend on the pool and its current parameters.

How the Protocol Works
A supplier deposits an asset into a pool and may earn variable interest from borrowers. A borrower posts collateral and takes out a loan subject to the pool’s collateral and loan-to-value limits. As utilization changes, borrowing costs can change too. If collateral falls below a liquidation threshold, the position may be liquidated to repay debt.
Save’s documentation describes a main pool alongside isolated and permissionless pools. Separating some riskier markets can limit exposure across pools, but it does not remove smart-contract, oracle, liquidity, or bad-debt risk. The same documentation warns that a fully utilized pool can temporarily leave no assets available for withdrawals.
From Solend to Save
The team announced the Solend-to-Save rebrand on July 24, 2024, presenting Save as a broader Solana savings and DeFi product suite. That announcement introduced SUSD, saveSOL, and dumpy.fun. It is evidence of what the project announced at the time, not confirmation that every product or feature remains available today.
The existing page used the former Solend name. The current protocol branding is Save; the old route is retained so that existing links continue to work.
Tokenomics and the SAVE Listing
Save’s older token documentation still lists the SLND mint and a 100 million SLND distribution; the page was last updated years ago. Pyth’s May 2025 feed notice said SLND had already migrated to Save. CoinGecko’s current SAVE page also carries a notice that the listed token recently moved from an old contract to a new one and shows the contract used in the market table above. The accessible Save documentation reviewed here does not explain the latest contract mapping or conversion process. CoinGecko currently reports 50 million circulating and maximum SAVE, but that is provider data, not an official allocation or unlock schedule. Verify the contract through Save’s official channels before interacting; a matching name or ticker alone does not confirm token identity.
Save’s lending and borrowing service is the protocol’s product utility. The current official material reviewed here does not establish a separate fee share, governance right, or guaranteed yield for holders of the listed SAVE token. Do not infer those rights from the lending product or from old SLND documentation.
Risks and Limits
Depositors and borrowers face smart-contract, oracle, liquidity, collateral-volatility, and liquidation risks. A collateralized loan can still be liquidated, and a pool may have limited withdrawal liquidity when most assets are borrowed. A market-data price or supply figure does not measure these protocol risks.
