Omni Network / Nomina (NOM)

Omni Network rebranded to Nomina, and the original Omni Core chain was sunset in February 2026. The project’s current token is NOM, not legacy OMNI: the announced migration redenominated 1 OMNI into 75 NOM, and the project says Omni Core balances and staked positions were migrated to Ethereum. This page keeps the existing /omni/ route while describing the successor project and token.

How It Works

Omni began as Ethereum rollup interoperability infrastructure. Nomina’s February 2026 update says the original Omni Core chain was shut down on February 17 and wallet balances, staked positions, and assets were migrated to Ethereum as ERC-20 tokens. The project redirected engineering toward a unified trading terminal that connects users to integrated perpetual DEX rollups; SolverNet SDK support was described as continuing separately.

The project’s own account is the source for this transition. Do not describe Omni Core as a live chain or assume its old messaging architecture remains operational.

Tokenomics

The successor token is NOM. The official rebrand set a 1:75 conversion from OMNI to NOM and stated a 7.5 billion NOM maximum, with the larger unit count representing redenomination rather than a new supply increase by itself. CoinGecko currently reports about 2.9 billion circulating and a 7.5 billion maximum; market data in the table uses CoinGecko’s nomina listing.

Because Omni Core is sunset, old descriptions of OMNI as a live cross-rollup gas or staking token are outdated. NOM’s current token role should be read from current Nomina materials; the rebrand alone does not create a claim on terminal revenue.

Use Cases

Nomina describes its current product as a trading terminal for operating across integrated perpetual DEX rollups. The earlier Omni vision focused on rollup interoperability, but the team says it shifted engineering effort away from maintaining Omni Core. These are project-stated product goals, not a guarantee of adoption or token value.

History

Omni Network launched with an Ethereum rollup interoperability thesis. In 2025, the team announced a rebrand to Nomina and converted the ticker to NOM at 1:75. In February 2026, it reported that Omni Core had been sunset and its on-chain state moved to Ethereum, while the Nomina terminal became the main product focus.

Common Misconceptions

  • “OMNI and NOM are identical units.” NOM uses a 75:1 redenomination and a different token contract.
  • “Omni Core is still a live chain.” Nomina says it was sunset on February 17, 2026.
  • “The old cross-rollup design is the whole current product.” The project says it shifted focus to its multi-DEX perpetual trading terminal.

Social Media Sentiment

The only direct public thread located for this review was a BitMart migration announcement in r/BitMartExchange, posted October 1, 2025, with 14 votes and no substantive holder debate in the captured thread.
