AMP is an Ethereum-based token used as collateral in payment applications, most notably Flexa Capacity. A pool can use AMP-backed collateral to support a transfer while the underlying payment settles; providers may receive AMP rewards when their collateral is used. AMP is collateral for the transaction, not the payment itself or a guaranteed share of Flexa revenue.

How AMP collateral works
In Flexa Capacity, providers allocate AMP to pools tied to supported payment apps and networks. The collateral is intended to reduce settlement risk: a merchant can receive the agreed payment outcome before the source blockchain transaction has fully completed. Pool choice matters because collateral is exposed to the risks of the app or network it supports.
The current Capacity v3 uses Anvil time-based pools. Flexa says rewards are distributed monthly and are pro-rata and time-weighted according to how long collateral has remained pooled. Selected pools may receive monthly Boosts. These are program rules, not a fixed yield promise, and they can change.
Tokenomics and supply
AMP has a maximum supply of 100 billion tokens. CoinGecko reported 89.781 billion circulating and 99.72 billion total supply when checked on 2026-10-22; circulating and reported total supply are not the same measure. The market snapshot above uses CoinGecko’s AMP listing and the live price fields are designed to refresh.
AMP’s purpose is to make collateral available to payment and other applications. A rising token price or payment volume does not automatically guarantee a particular return to holders.
Risks and misconceptions
Providing AMP as collateral is different from holding it in a wallet. Flexa’s current Capacity terms warn that collateral may be liquidated if an app or network becomes insolvent. Providers also face smart-contract, pool, operational, market-price, and withdrawal-timing risks. Flexa’s v3 announcement describes a 12–24 hour unlock window after an unlock request; check the current interface and terms before acting.
It is inaccurate to describe AMP rewards as a fixed percentage of every transaction fee. Current Flexa materials describe pro-rata, time-weighted AMP rewards when collateral is used, with pool-specific boosts; the amount depends on program rules and utilization.
Social Media Sentiment
- Reddit, r/AMPToken: In a March 2, 2026 discussion, one long-time provider questioned how an interruption affected their time factor; replies offered competing interpretations and troubleshooting. It is a small, anecdotal thread about reward mechanics, not a measure of all AMP holders’ views.
