ApeX Protocol (ApeX) is a decentralized trading project whose current exchange product is ApeX Omni. ApeX describes Omni as a perpetual DEX built on zkLink X; its official site advertises leveraged contracts and other trading products. Those are platform descriptions, not guarantees of liquidity, execution quality, or safety. Leverage can magnify losses, including rapid liquidation.
ApeX Pro and ApeX Omni
Older summaries often describe ApeX Pro’s StarkEx-based design as if it were the current exchange. ApeX announced the sunset of ApeX Pro and a transition to Omni in 2025, so those legacy StarkEx details should not be attributed to the current product. The current official overview identifies Omni and zkLink X. ApeX later announced that Omni spot trading ended on August 5, 2026; that notice said perpetuals and the rest of the product suite were unaffected at the time.
The APEX token
APEX is the project’s token, distinct from the name of the exchange. ApeX’s December 2025 token white paper records an effective total supply of 500 million units and notes that circulating supply can differ as tokens are released or burned. The paper also states that APEX does not give holders legally enforceable contractual rights or guaranteed profit participation. ApeX separately advertises staking features, but reward terms and available functions can change; past or advertised rewards are not a promised return.
Risks and checks
When evaluating the platform, check the live product, supported markets, leverage and margin rules, oracle and settlement design, withdrawal conditions, smart-contract controls, and current terms. A decentralized interface does not remove liquidation, software, governance, bridge, or counterparty risks. Spot, perpetual, prediction, and event products are different services with different rules.
Social Media Sentiment
Independent user discussion located for the legacy product is limited. In a January 2024 r/DeFi thread, one trader said spreads seemed to widen after opening a position and made exiting more costly; replies discussed exit costs and liquidity. This is an unverified user impression about the older ApeX Pro era, not evidence that the current Omni product manipulates prices or a measure of current community sentiment. direct public discussion.
