Aftermath Finance

Aftermath Finance is a Sui-based DeFi platform with automated-market-maker pools, a smart-order router, liquid staking through afSUI, and perpetual futures. These are distinct products with different mechanics and risks. Current official materials describe the product suite; they do not support treating older claims about an AFT or veAFT fee-sharing token or an “AMM Lend” feature as established facts.

Trading and Liquidity Products

Aftermath’s pool documentation describes weighted pools that can hold up to eight assets, while its router searches across Aftermath pools and connected Sui DEXs for a trade route. Pool design, asset weights, liquidity, and market conditions affect the price impact of swaps. A route through several pools does not remove smart-contract or liquidity risk.

Aftermath also operates perpetual futures. Its documentation describes a fully on-chain order book, isolated-margin accounts, and permissionless liquidations. Perpetuals are separate from AMM swaps: traders can lose collateral when positions move against them, and liquidity, funding, oracle, and liquidation mechanics matter.

afSUI Liquid Staking

Through its liquid-staking product, a user delegates SUI to a validator and receives afSUI. The token is intended to remain usable in Sui DeFi while reflecting staking rewards over time. Official documentation describes regular unstaking at an epoch transition and an instant-un stake option that depends on available reserves and can have a variable fee. The current interface and docs should be checked for the live route, terms, and fee.

Risks and Limitations

Using Aftermath may involve smart-contract, validator, oracle, bridge, liquidity, and market risks. AMM liquidity providers can experience impermanent loss; afSUI may trade away from its redemption value; and perpetual positions can be liquidated. Sui’s network and ecosystem conditions also affect the products built on it. “Fully on-chain” describes where documented operations execute, not a guarantee against bugs, loss, or downtime.

Social Media Sentiment

In a small April 2026 r/sui discussion asking for a Sui perpetuals venue with a Hyperliquid-like experience, a commenter named Aftermath Perps as an on-chain option but said its volume and open interest were lower. This is one dated comparison in a low-engagement thread, not a representative measure of Aftermath’s current liquidity or broad community sentiment.
