SyncSwap is an automated market maker (AMM) DEX with multiple pool designs documented across protocol versions. Its technical documentation distinguishes Classic pools for general swaps, Stable pools for similarly priced assets, and Aqua pools for concentrated-liquidity strategies. Pool type, fee settings, assets, and active networks should be checked for the specific market.
Pool types
Classic pools use a constant-product curve similar to x × y = k. Stable pools use a curve designed for tokens expected to stay near parity, such as certain stablecoins. Aqua pools introduce concentrated liquidity and a hybrid pricing curve; the documentation describes an automatic rebalancing mechanism and variable fees for Aqua, while Classic and Stable fees are generally fixed unless configured otherwise.
These pools have different tradeoffs. Concentrated liquidity can use capital more efficiently around a price range, but price movement can leave liquidity less useful and expose LPs to changes in the asset mix. Stable pools can become imbalanced if one asset loses its peg. Classic pools remain exposed to ordinary AMM price impact and impermanent loss.
Protocol versions and deployments
SyncSwap’s technical docs describe V1 and V2/V2.1. V2 added Aqua and included security changes; the docs say V1 pools remain available, but their behavior differs and they cannot be used for oracles. This is a version-specific statement in the project documentation, not a guarantee that every old pool or deployment remains active. Verify the pool contract and network before interacting.
Swap fees are configurable, and the project’s documentation says Aqua supports dynamic fees. A protocol-wide percentage should not be inferred from another pool’s fee. A transaction preview can change with pool state, token price, and gas.
Liquidity provision
LPs supply assets to a pool and receive a share of its position or pool tokens. Their return depends on trading fees and changes in the value and mix of deposited assets. SyncSwap’s pool types have different deposit and withdrawal mechanics, so read the current pool instructions rather than assuming every pool offers single-token entry or identical fee sharing.
Security and user experience
SyncSwap’s documentation points to audits for V2 changes, but an audit does not cover every pool, token, deployment, or later upgrade. In a May 2024 Reddit support thread, users reported liquidity positions not appearing in the interface even though they could still see positions on an explorer; replies suggested a front-end or pool-version issue. This dated report is not evidence of a current widespread defect, but it illustrates why users should verify LP positions on-chain and keep transaction records.
Social Media Sentiment
A May 2024 r/zkSync thread included users who could not see some SyncSwap liquidity positions in the app while the positions remained visible on an explorer. Replies suggested checking the account, cache, or pool version. It is an old, limited user-support report rather than evidence that the current interface has the same issue.
